Privacy Policy

Empire CDL ("the app") is New York State CDL test prep published by Wadsworth AI LLC ("we", "us"). This policy says exactly what the app handles, why, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

The short version. You can use every study feature without an account. Signed out, your progress stays on your device and is never sent to us. If you sign in, we store your study progress so it follows you to your other devices. The iOS and Android apps show ads from Google AdMob unless you buy Remove Ads. We never sell your data.

What we collect

If you sign in (optional): the account ID and email address that Apple or Google gives us (Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email), and your name if the provider shares it. We use them only to identify your account.
Your study data, if you sign in: flashcard, quiz, exam and review progress, your study profile (which tests you're studying) and app settings. We keep them so your progress syncs across devices.
Purchases: if you buy Remove Ads, Apple or Google processes the payment. We receive only the confirmation that the purchase is active, never your payment details.
Advertising (iOS and Android apps only): Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), IP address, and ad interaction data to show and measure ads. On iOS you are asked for permission before any tracking. In the EEA and UK you are asked for consent first. You can choose non-personalized ads. The website shows no ads.

What we do not collect

No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone access.
No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs of our own.
Nothing about signed-out users leaves the device, except what the ad network needs to show ads in the apps.

Stored only on your device

Signed out, all progress, settings, theme, read-aloud voice and reminder time are stored on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing the site's data removes them.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

Account data is kept until you delete your account. In the app, open Progress → Account → Delete account. That permanently erases your account and synced progress from our servers right away. You can also email support@wadsworthai.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to its processing. Use the in-app controls, or contact us. We do not sell or share personal information for money.

Service providers

Apple and Google for sign-in and in-app purchases. Their own privacy policies apply.
Google AdMob for ads in the apps (how Google uses data from apps).
Our servers are in the United States, and traffic to them is encrypted with HTTPS.

Children

Empire CDL is for people preparing for a commercial driver's license and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above always shows the current version.
